About Us

UTS antecedent institutions

UTS:Alumni comprises graduates from a number of antecedent institutions. Graduates from any of the institutions listed below are welcome to join UTS:Alumni.

In 2008, UTS celebrates 20 years as a university after forming in 1988 from the former NSW Institute of Technology. It was restructured in 1990 after the 'old UTS' merged with the Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education, the School of Design and the Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education. Despite its different campuses, UTS' foundations literally and ideologically are in the heart of the global city of Sydney.

As part of the 20-year anniversary celebrations, UTS:Alumni is hosting the Alumni Awards, to be held on 2 April 2008. Nominate yourself or fellow outstanding alumni in one of the seven categories that include Leadership and Achievement.
