A landmark project to boost Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in IT has reached a new phase with the first Indigenous student accepted into UTS' prestigious Bachelor of Information Technology.

Kuring-gai Staff Network member receives Honorary Doctorate from Thailand Uni

Dr Joan Webb, who was a lecturer in Science at the Kuring-gai campus from 1975 to 1990, recently received an Honorary Doctorate from Thailand's Phranakorn Rhajabhat University.

Joan's award was in recognition of 25 years of service to environmental education in Thailand.

The General Sir John Monash Awards

The General Sir John Monash Awards annually present eight awards to outstanding Australian citizens graduating from Australian Universities. This enables recipients to undertake postgraduate study abroad at the world's best Universities, appropriate to their field of study.

Applications close on 31 August 2005.

UTS founding Law Dean passes away

Professor Geoffrey Bartholomew, the foundation Dean of Law, has passed away, aged 77. Geoffrey was Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1977 to 1987.
