Keeping Thai language and culture study alive in Sydney

UTS is on a mission to retain the study of Thai language and culture in Australia’s biggest, most international city to deepen the cultural and business ties between Thailand and Australia.

Until recently UTS catered for students wanting to learn about Thai language and culture through a cooperative arrangement with the University of Sydney. At the end of 2005, the University of Sydney ceased teaching Thai language. Because of its importance to Australia and UTS’s long-term relationship with Thailand, UTS stepped in and is keen to establish an enhanced program of Thai language and culture teaching and research in Sydney.
