Scholarships for disadvantaged students
UTS staff and alumni contribute to the UTS Scholarship Fund for disadvantaged students. Without this support, many able students would not be able to commence or complete their studies. In recognition of the importance of supporting scholarships at UTS, the University will match contributions to the fund by staff up to $50,000 per annum.

China Studies Fund
UTS is a leader in China Studies and has established a China Studies Fund to help the University achieve more in this important area. Individuals and companies are invited to be part of this exciting work through their support. Initially, funds raised will help fund leading academic positions. As the Fund develops, it is anticipated UTS will be able to make additional key staff appointments, and help fund research.

Bruti-Liberati Visiting Fellowship Fund

The Bruti-Liberati Visiting Fellowship Fund provides funding for an outstanding researcher, no more than 12 years post-PhD, to visit UTS for a period of up to six weeks to work in the area of quantitative finance. More information about the fellowship can be found here.

The Fund is named in memory of Dr Nicola Bruti-Liberati, an outstanding Senior Research Associate in the UTS School of Finance and Economics, specialising in mathematical and computational finance and numerical methods for stochastic differential equations.

Nicola died tragically in a traffic accident on his way to work at UTS in 2007, aged 32. In 2008, he posthumously received the Chancellor's Award for the best PhD thesis at UTS in 2007.

High Performance Rowing
The UTS Rowing Club has been the leading University Rowing Club in Australia for the past decade. UTS Rowers continue to dominate the sport and have consistently represented Australia in the national and Olympic teams. At the Sydney 2000 Olympics, four of the Men's Eight were from UTS, a former UTS student and club member captained the Women's Rowing Team at the 2004 Athens Olympics, and recently, a UTS student and club member was part of the Men's Four placed fourth in the World Championships held at Eton in September 2006.

UTS is seeking support to help fund high performance rowing coaching and other development needs.

Engineering Remote Labs
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Technology, Sydney has been ranked 70th by the Times Higher Education Supplement out of more than 10,000 engineering faculties. It has a reputation for meeting the increasing need both in Australia and overseas for highly employable graduates due to its practice-based approach to learning.

In keeping with its high profile, UTS:Engineering has established a world class capability in remotely accessible laboratories. This initiative is primarily to improve the laboratory experience of students as well as to address security, economic and physical space constraints by giving up to 400 students undertaking practice-based work access to the online Computer Systems laboratory 24hrs a day, seven days a week.

UTS:Engineering is offering opportunities for organisations and individuals to be involved in this exciting development.
