Spring 2014

Our exciting Spring 2014 issue brings you three articles on writing and publishing fiction and photos from our 10th Anniversary celebration.

Bronwyn, Linda and Julie, editors and publishers at Spineless Wonders, reveal to us what they look for in writing and how stories are selected and commissioned. Deborah Abela tells us what motivated her to write New City a sequel to her best-selling novel Grimsdon and how she pitched it to her publisher. Nigel Bartlett takes us through creating his crime thriller and his discovery of why he writes. Our New Books features latest releases by Deb Abela, Kate Forsyth, Susanne Gervay and Chris Broadribb.

For those who managed to brave the grim weather to attend the UTS Writers’ Alumni 10th anniversary event and those who couldn’t make it, we have photos of our celebration plus a few paragraphs to give you a summary of the event. Congratulations to Libby Summer winner of the short form writing competition, her story and a commended story by Steve Corner appear on our 10th Anniversary page. Our event is also mentioned in the latest issue of UTS Tower magazine, Summer 2014, Issue 11.

Our regular pages of Writers’ Alumni achievements, news; competitions, events and opportunities for writers aim to motivate you to kick-start or continue your writing.
