Kuring-gai: What next?

A Continuing Legacy

Kuring-gai campus todayThe Kuring-gai campus has a long history as a home to education. Prior to becoming part of UTS, the campus housed the William Balmain College of Advance Education, then the Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education (KCAE).

In 2012, UTS entered an in-principle agreement with the NSW Government to swap the Kuring-gai Campus for a property in Ultimo. Allowing an expansion of the UTS City campus and enabling the Dept of Education to establish a new, much-needed educational facility in Lindfield.

The handover of the site to the Department of Education will ensure Kuring-gai’s education legacy continues.

UTS unites at a world class campus

UTS will close its Kuring-gai campus based at Lindfield and students and staff will join friends and colleagues at the UTS City campus in Ultimo from Semester 1, 2016. Through its City Campus Master Plan, UTS is creating a revitalised, state-of-the-art, urban campus offering all staff and students access to learning and research facilities that promote connection, collaboration and creativity.

Following the transition to Ultimo, UTS will have a single, main campus in Sydney's southern CBD for the first time in its history where students can enjoy completing their degrees at the number one Australian university under 50 years of age (The 2015 Times Higher Education ‘100 under 50’ rankings). You can find out more on the UTS City Campus Masterplan website.

Stay Connected!

To recognise and connect our graduates from our founding institutions including Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education and William Balmain Teachers’ College, we launched the UTS: Origins project to celebrate the achievements of our vibrant alumni community.

If you graduated from one of our founding institutions, we can help connect you with your former classmates and offer you a range of including invitations to special events; networking opportunities; access to the UTS Library; and much more!

We will also be featuring an exhibition highlighting the history and spirit of Kuring-gai at our UTS City Campus early in 2016, so we invite all Kuring-gai graduates to keep their details up to date, so we can let you know about upcoming events
