UTS Technology Intersections Initiative launch

Faculty of Engineering and IT alumni are invited to the launch of a collaboration initiative, Technology Intersections, aimed at bringing industry, government and UTS researchers together to produce targeted research and solutions to real challenges and opportunities in our economy.

The event, hosted by the Faculty’s Dean, Professor Ian Burnett, will be held on Thursday 7 July.

As part of the initiative, the Faculty will be exploring how to achieve a creative and tech-led approach to innovation across a broad range of Engineering and IT areas, and examining how to overcome barriers to collaboration.

The launch event will feature two guest speakers who will share their experiences leading successful collaborative partnerships:

  • Mr James Brownlow, National Data Analytics Manager for Colonial First State Super, discussing how UTS’s Advanced Analytics Institute is helping Colonial gain better results from big data analysis
  • Mr John Stanton, CEO of Communications Alliance, outlining the work of the Internet of Things (IoT) Australia Alliance in transforming industry and government through the use of IoT

If you have feedback in the form of questions or opportunities you may have on how to collaborate with researchers prior to the evening, please add this information to the RSVP form and a faculty member will be in contact prior to the event.
