UTS Alumni Award winners 2011

This year's UTS Alumni Awards ceremony took place at a gala dinner on the 2nd November 2011 where we acknowledged and celebrated some of our most inspiring graduates.

Dr Shari Forbes, Director of Forensic Science at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence for the reputation she has established as a world leading expert in forensic science.


Mr Shawn AtleoShawn-A-in-chut Atleo

Alumni Award for Excellence, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
Master of Education in Adult Learning and Global Change (2003)

Shawn A-in-chut Atleo, National Chief to the Assembly of First Nations and Chancellor of Vancouver Island University, is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence, for his dedication to furthering the rights of First Nations communities and his commitment to education.


Mr Graham JahnGraham Jahn

Alumni Award for Excellence, Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building
Bachelor of Architecture (1982)

Director, City Planning, Development & Transport at the City of Sydney, and UTS University Medallist Graham Jahn is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence for his major contribution to the shape and values of modern Sydney and his achievements in the field of architecture

Alumni Award for Excellence, Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology
Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (1996)

Drenka Andjelic, Founder/Director at project management company Construction Assignments, is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence for her exceptional business leadership in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing (2003)
Master of Health Services Management (2005)

Mathew Cleary, Senior Manager at PwC Sydney Health Team and previously Program Coordinator: Mogadishu, Somalia at Medecins Sans Frontieres, is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence for his dedication to the advancement of health, and service to humanity, both internationally and in Australia.


Mr Robert CoombeRobert Coombe

Alumni Award for Excellence, Faculty of Law
Bachelor of Laws (1990)

Robert Coombe is awarded a UTS Alumni Award for Excellence for his career achievements, alongside his commitment to various community organisations. Robert is the former Group Executive Westpac Retail & Business Banking and has over 28 years experience in banking, insurance, and finance and wealth management.

The Chancellor's Award for Excellence 2011 was presented to Robert Coombe.
