May 2015

UTS has certainly been making its mark in 2015! Following on from February’s opening of the UTS Business School, last week we were proud to officially open our fantastic new Health and Science precinct. Complete with Australia’s largest super lab, a forensic crime scene simulation lab and a living "green roof" for biological research, the building includes public health clinics specialising in pharmacy, psychology and orthoptics.

We have also reached new heights in the global university rankings announced last week. UTS is now Australia's top university in the Times Higher Education 'young' universities ranking, as well as being among the world's elite institutions in 12 of the 36 subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, and leaping into the world's top fifty in media and communications.

It's a time for celebrations as we welcome over 5000 new UTS alumni, who have been looking resplendent at our autumn graduation ceremonies – check out our gallery of their celebratory selfies and reminisce!!

We're also calling on alumni to nominate your colleagues or those who most inspire you for the UTS Alumni Awards this year. It's a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate our most outstanding alumni and their achievements, with nominations opening today.

If you are based in Vietnam, China or Hong Kong we will be hosting reunions there in the coming weeks and look forward to seeing you. UTS has also a packed event program in May and June, from topics such as sport to forensics and more.

Make sure you catch up on all the latest news and events in our brand new edition of alumni magazine, Tower, available online, and for iPad & Android on iTunes and GooglePlay.

Kind regards,
