September 2016

Kristy White

Welcome to the September edition of the UTS alumni newsletter!

As the new Deputy Director of Alumni Relations, I've now been in the chair for three days, and am very much looking forward to sharing with you all the exciting initiatives happening around campus, as well as our program of events and exclusive benefits for alumni.

Firstly, I'm delighted to announce the launch of Alumni Advantage, offering UTS graduates an exclusive saving on further studies from 2017. If you're thinking of coming back to study with us, now is the perfect time, especially with some of our groundbreaking new courses – check out our upcoming postgraduate information sessions for more info.

This month, we also have a range of thought-provoking events, including two UTSpeaks public lectures highlighting fascinating research breakthroughs in the treatment of spinal cord injury and for survivors of stroke. And in case you missed it, former Prime Minister Paul Keating shared his insights on Australia's relationship with China – check out the full conversation with Kerry O'Brien in this video.

September also marks the start of our UTS Annual Appeal, raising money to fund scholarships for UTS students facing financial hardship. The generosity of our alumni community has a life-changing impact on students who might otherwise not be able to complete their studies, and I encourage you to learn how you can make a difference by supporting this important campaign.

Warm regards,

Kristy White
